I am a hermit with a habit. And I guess, something like a drug dealer, I began selling to support my habit several years ago. I can't explain the lure of the hobby or what it means to me; but I'm hooked for life. Getting in that box and the thrill of opening up that work of art that has a place already cleared for it in the display case; nothing better. Other than maybe getting in that worker and putting my edge on it and finding reasons to pull it out.
We plan to have a small forum of friends that have discussions in a mutually respectful manner. We are a Christian business and have no intention of having anything that would contradict that frame of mind. But, lately, many of the forums have either gotten so strict that you can't have a conversation without getting little noises in your ear chastising possible interpretations of what you posted; or dwindling memberships because they either charge for useful services or have banners advertising wares all over the site.
Having said that, I want this to be a place for our friends to discuss knife collecting and any other subjects that are related and/or interesting to those involved. My plan is specialize in American and German slipjoints; but if we get a little off track that will be alright. I have not intention of getting very big and have no intention of seeking any profit from CollectorKnives.Info.
Please do not hesitate to make recommendations or respectfully complain about something you would like to see improved.
